It is common for a little brother to look up to an older brother. It is not so common for an older brother to look up to a little brother, but that is the exact position I find myself in.
My Little Brother is a good man! He is one of those people who would give his “shirt off his back” to someone in need and in fact has done similar things for people. He is genuinely concerned about people, a trait that I wish I could develop.
Richard has many accomplishments to his credit. He is a registered pharmacist and still practices; even though from the years of standing, his feet cause him a lot of personal pain. He was the first mayor of our home town and was instrumental in getting city sewer for the town, an accomplishment that has helped the town and the people.
Richard is a licensed aircraft pilot with many hours under his belt.
Richard also has one pastime that in my eyes is dangerous. He loves to ride motorcycles! A few years back he bought himself a Harley and has taken some really long trips on that bike. When he takes off on of those trips he calls in to let me know where he is and how he is doing. I have a USA map on my wall where I plot his location and keep up with his progress. I can get pretty anxious when he forgets to call.
Probably the most enduring thing about my little brother to me is his love of family. His two girls and his wife, Anna, are the lights of his life. He also takes the time to visit with our Mother, who can be a bit trying at times. He takes all this in stride without raising his voice or flying off the handle like many others do.
He is a smart man and well respected by all who know him.
The world, as I know it, is better off for his contributions and his love of people. Yes, I respect my little Brother and love him!
